Friends,

I've just read through the discussion thread and thought I'd put my two cents in. I've made a number of purchases via the internet and for the MOST PART haven't been disappointed. However, I feel one of the greatest advantages is simply getting a better handle on the current market value of the type of gun your interested in. This can be difficult if you live in an area that doesn't have many gunshops or gunshows of interest. Also, many of the reference books don't seem to be right on when it comes to prices.

If you are new to the Luger collecting hobby, just TRY to stay calm and take the time to compare asking prices / conditions / rarity / confidence in the seller. Education is the FIRST thing you need, not a Luger. Always keep in mind... the first buyer who says "I agree to your price. Where do I send my money?" is going to get the goods.

Also, I STRONGLY recommend getting a C&R (Curio & Relics) collectors license. It is not a difficult process and it makes things MUCH easier. You can save a lot of $$$ in the long run on transfer charges.

Sorry about the long post. It's a pleasure to be part of this community.

Roger
