A bit of post WW2 history. Mauser was under liquidation between 1945 and 1956. In an attempt to keep work going, a separate tool building company was set up. It used the name M.Z.B. and a logo very close to the Mauser banner. When the leftovers of Mauser were returned to their owners, the M.Z.B. was bought and reintegrated into Mauser.

I have a set of Mauser calipers that belonged to my uncle. Funny enough it's the only Mauser product I have with the Mauser Banner.

I was gifted a Mauser device similar to the ones pictured by a friend in Germany.
I soaked it in Kroil for a while, and starting to look up. |

I've got a Mauser made caliper and micrometer. It's nice to have artifacts from Mauser's other lives.
They made a variety of products including cars, adding machines and other precision metal goods over the life of the company. I've often wondered if a broad need for precision measurement tools motivated Mauser to design and make his own tools, and that those eventually became products. If I remember correctly, some of the WW-II era Mauser measurement tools were military acceptance marked.
