Thank you John and the rest of you.
These 5 Lugers were all acquired several decades ago and I have been fortunate enough to hang on to these and several military Lugers, PPk's, P38's etc. The 70's and 80's was a good era for Luger and German Auto hunting. I am in the South West and it is much slimmer pickings these days at gun shops and shows. A few months back a fine collection of about a dozen Lugers including a 1900 Swiss, Couple of Navy's, GNR and 1920's carbine came into a local gun shop. But that is extremely rare. I have yet to buy any from the online sites, but that is mostly due to price. As you can see I like all original examples in excellent condition and you have to pay pretty high for that these days. Plus I don't travel back East where they go to shows. Ever since they closed the Great Western Americana Gun show in Pomona CA years ago it has sucked for collecting out here. Oh, and what they want for a shooter Luger out here is ridiculous, plus they all think it is a big collectors piece. I know I am preaching to the choir and I digress..........good day to all. |
