I call these "Zombie" threads... They seem to have a life of their own.
It's not that uncommon to find firearms hidden in houses. I just had a student that found a brand new Colt M1991 .45acp semi-auto above a kitchen cabinet. I told him that if he bought the house with it's contents (normally stated in contracts) it belonged to him. I also helped guide him to comply with state law on the acquisition.
