Erfurt Double Date Police Rework
I recently obtained a real nice Erfurt Double Date, Police Rework. Pictures posted, it has the "police safety sear" fantastic grips, matching mag. However, it appears that all of the "straw" parts ( I haven't checked the mag release) have a different number as the rest of the gun. The serial number is 1010, and the straw parts are marked 05, the rest of course 10. I would like some comments and any information you all might be able to provide me, Thanks,
Ratsnake also, no police unit makings on front of grip strap. |

so, I see an army Erfurt luger that was 1920 property marked (not technically a date) and went into police service at some point, likely in the mid 20's.
It received a sear safety and a mag safety in the 30's, with the mag safety disconnected as required in a few years later. Mismatched - hopefully you didn't pay too much? oh, the numbers on the rear are sometimes said they are a rack number, but with the period afterwards, it makes it look to me like a weimar provisional marking (unit marking) ed ;

As Ed has stated, it is a "mix and match" parts Luger. If it was fitted correctly, it should be a good shooter for you, but has no collector value. A good "first Luger" to enjoy and learn from.

Welcome.
You left out three important pictures, the bottom of the barrel, front of frame, and front of grip strap, a close up of the left hand chamber would be good too. They often help with info.
