Stuck bullet in barrel

I know this thread is a little old, but I thought I would add my two cents...

I always carry a cleaning rod and some "knock-outs" when I go to the range. I use the Bore-Tech knockouts (which have concave fronts), but you can use any brass jag that has the point cut/ground off so the front is flat.

For a squib load (which all of us know we should NEVER do, but which can happen): Just select the right size knockout, appropriate for caliber, screw it into the cleaning rod, hold the barrel vertical (pointing up) and insert the rod. Just drop it down the barrel, letting gravity work for you. If that doesn't do it, you may have to tap down on the rod LIGHTLY. Squib loads are usually easily dislodged, but I have tried to help out fellow shooters that somehow got it firmly jammed in there. In this case, give up at the range, and take it home to work on.

These work well on rifles and pistols, using the appropriate rod, of course.
