Hi,
I don't think I had showed this before. Here is my Mauser Schnellfeuer (M712) - the gun is matching and alive (capable of full auto firing), although I do not plan to shoot it. I guess it was made around 1935, in middle of the production. This Schnellfeuer only have the commercial C/C/U on the left side of the chamber and no nazi markings at all. It is chambered for the 7,63 x 25 ammo (.30 Mauser), serial number in the 44000 range and the magazine base only have the "Mauser Banner" on it. Most of the Schnellfeuer pistols that came here were purchased brand new in mid-1930s for Law Enforment duty. These guns remained in line of service until the 1970s, thus is hard to find them in good condition. It is not in pristine condition, as it was a service gun, not a safe queen. It only has the 10 rounds magazine and no stock (the stock shown was added for photograpic purposes), so the hunting is still going on. Hope you enjoy it. Douglas. |

That's a spectacular piece and rarely seen. Full auto Astra's seem to be more common, so seeing an original Mauser Schnellfeuer is pretty special.

Full auto Astra is not common. For example, There are only 6 or 7 fully transferable model F registered in the US. Probably around 100 Schnellfeuers registered. That's US. From world wide context, the corresponding production volumes were there -- Astra was a small factory, making a few thousand relatively higher quality pistols took them many years of effort. Mauser was a big factory, making 100,000 pistols was just a piece of cake for them.

Thx for the correction Alvin. Guess it's a matter of exposure then, as I've run across two Astra's in the last few years in the Phoenix area and haven't ever run onto the Mauser model. Regardless, that's a really nice rig that Douglas has taken the time to show us.

Very nice!
![]() Last time I saw one (only time!) was in the Waffen Bavaria store near the train station in München back in the mid-80's (I related that story here before). They wanted the equivalent of $700 US for it. ![]() Long ago...and oh so far away... ![]()
