I would strip it completely to verify that all serial numbers match. If it is all matched I would not shoot it. Guys (including myself) go crazy over the guns without stock lugs.

at $850 I think you did very well and could easily turn it for a profit to buy a shooter grade luger.

Are there any marks on the front grip strap? And still important what does the bottom of the mag look like?
