Also, presuming I could find one, would a 1941-dated holster be more appropriate?

I merged your pictures into your first posting, note you can edit a posting after posting.

yes, a 1942 might be more accurate', but the reality is that this would go with a luger like this fine.

War started May 1939 - so holster was made before the gun was 1940

Ed

PS: It is the two matching mags and condition - a same year model with two non-matching mags (common) and 10% worse condition would be worth $1500-$1600 -
