Be ware
I see that Top Gun Sports, LLC of Eugene, Oregon is still at it with Lugers. He fakes incorrect parts on guns and sells as authentic. Be very careful in dealing with him.
See some of my prior posts a few years back. He is a lawyer and knows when the authorities won't crack down on him. A word to the wise. Jack |

I saw a seller with similar name on gunbroker.com, same guy? To make money out of trading C&R, seller need many special items in nice shape, but the supply is only that big, and the cost is not low. So, some people start playing games.

Yeah, this is the guy that will start auctions very low, and then have a high reserve. Looks like he relists many unsold guns. I don't even waste my time looking at his items.

The seller ID on GB is: TopGunSports LLC
He's listed a Krieghoff over 20 times with a reserve of 7K. The gun has an un-numbered side plate and no number on the hold open. No inspection period, no refunds, as is. Currently has a P.38 cyq listed as a Walther P.38. Reserve of $1500. This does not inspire confidence in any dealings with him. G2 |

I guess what I meant by "uneducated" was someone being anything less than an expert...

In C&R collecting, what buyers should be very careful is very high value items, for example, those items costing 5 digits. If unfortunately made a mistake and bought a regular wrong gun of $1k, $2k, or $3k (that happens, even if buyer considered being an expert), buyer could still compensate the loss relatively easy through selling a good one (or a few good ones). But if acquired a wrong very high value gun, it'll hard to compensate. Never buy high value C&R without hand-on inspection.

Which would make an inspection period of reasonable length mandatory on a high priced collectable item. As we know there are numerous ways to deceive buyers, best to examine in person. Sellers that don't allow this should be avoided.

Would you go into an antique shop and just pay whatever the retailer was asking without knowing if the price was market reasonable?, or whether or not the "antique" was made 50-100 years ago, or last week? Use the same common sense when dealing in firearms, especially Lugers. Do your research before you buy. There is a saying here that the tuition at Luger University can be VERY expensive if you don't know what you are buying. That is the reason for this forum. To educate those that have an interest in this pistol's history, engineering, use, and collectability...
