Naw - at least he can now find ammo for it!

I've shot 50 rds of MrNambu ammo - had one slight hangfire of about 1/2 second, but otherwise was OK. He seems to have dropped off the face of the earth, I was going to have him reload my brass, but his email (as posted on his website) no longer works. I'll probably just have to get the stuff to reload them myself.

Kinda pricey though, so reloading might be an option if you want to shoot a lot. Also, they seem to make it in batches and won't make more until they're completely out, so you need to be quick and buy when they have it in stock.

He's probably reselling it - I was recently able to pick up 150 rds at $49.99 per 50, which is about what Mr. Nambu was selling it for.

So you think this is actually Mr Nambu's manufacture? Sounds like we're back to square one then, no Nambu ammo available...

You're assuming that 'Mr Nambu' loads the ammunition he sells? In that case, it would be possible for an enterprising forum member with all the tools, cases, bullets, and powder to load 8mm Nambu for resale. Lots of retired members are probably interested in a profitable sideline to add to their meager SSA benefits.

All it takes is a basic reloading set, and the aforementioned components. And residence in a state that has not yet banned powder and primers.

$50 for fifty rounds is a dollar a round [duh!]. I haven't added up the components, Starline brass, Huntington bullets, etc to see if a dollar a round would yield a profit or not. Or how much of one. Shipping would be a factor also, both to and from.

Do we have such an individual here?

No, I was assuming that he makes (made?) the ammo sold by Old Western Scrounger.

And making and selling ammo is probably a bit more involved than what you describe. Seems like you would need an FFL 06 ("Manufacturer of ammunition for firearms") or if you intend to sell it yourself an FFL 07 ("Manufacturer & dealer of firearms & ammo"). Not sure about the 07 though, sounds like overkill even for the government. Then you have the nowadays always present risk of being held liable for what other people may do with the ammo, so good insurance would almost be a must. Can't have too much fun, can we?
