Welcome to the forum and thanks for sharing your family heirloom. Nice!
As has already been said, never shoot that puppy again. Preserve it. Get a nice shooter Luger and enjoy shooting it like you hate it. I did that and refrain from shooting my collector/investment grade Lugers. Preserve that priceless (to your family) heirloom.
