If I were you, I would go and ask Mrs Clause for a cheap shooter. One with no family historical value. It appears to be a matching, original piece. Show us mag bottoms, they should be sr# the same to gun. Screw this one up, and you will be logged in the family history book as the one who effed great grandpa's luger up. An excelent shooter can be had for under a grand, and you can shoot that until the thing is worn out without worry. Just my 2 cents. Great family treasure, thanks for sharing with us, and welcome.
