Yes, there are some stores that have "no guns" signs proudly displayed on their front doors. This prevents the bad guys from carrying guns in these stores, thus eliminating the risk of armed robbery. Entirely logical, isn't it?

It's not a popular practice here in TN either. IIRC, they recently passed a law saying that the store owner can be held liable for disarming his customers. Let's say that you're in such a store and you get hurt because you weren't allowed the means to defend yourself, you can actually sue the store owner for disarming you.

We can use a law like that here in VA.
