Heads up gentleman!

Should you live in Kalifornia, Gov. Moonbeam signed into law, to take affect on January, 2017, eight new gun laws that may personally impact you.

One of the many, many and increasing reasons I left California. Very sad that such a great state has been flushed down the toilet by liberal politics.

Right, more intrusive laws?! I am sorry for all the honest gun owners in CA that have to contend with more regulations and limitations on your second amendment rights.

At least someone grabbed the ball and is running with it to stop it. I sure hope that he is successful with his petition......and I don't/wouldn't live in Calif.

The problem is mostly not that Brown signed it, but that it went through CA congress.

With federal and state laws, people are so centered on the presidential elections, it is the local and federal senators and congress-peoples that need to be voted in. A loss by both is where it will spell doom for us...

In Colorado, from what I read, many of the state senators/congress that voted in the anti-gun laws were either voted out and I think 1 or 2 were 'recalled'...

I don't think the magazine ban will survive a judicial challenge.

The NY "S.A.F.E." Act contains a ten-round mag limit--modify permanently or sell them out-of-state. it also mandates backgorund checks for ammo, but it has not been implemented yet, aside from the restriction of picking up ammo at the FFL, to whom it can only be sent now.

This was an executive order by the governor, perpetrated late one Sunday night when the legislature was out of session, IIRC, with no public input. It also made my Thompson semi an "assault rifle"--presumably because its pistol grips make it extra- deadly!

Well, potentially if a challenge is filed a judge could issue an injunction to temporarily prevent the law from going into effect while the case is under review. (best case)

Or the law could could be allowed to go into effect while the challenge is being litigated.
It really depends on quickly and vigorously the law is challenged.

And, in my uneducated opinion, I think best that can come out of this is allowing the grandfathering of existing magazines.

I think the rest of the rest of law will probably go into effect in some fashion.

Imo, this is the sort of pattern we're going to see in the future.
More state-level legislation than federal legislation concerning gun restrictions.

I support the NRA PVF and NRA ILA just because of the state encroachments that are becoming more visible virtually weekly. Not much else I can see that helps.

Oregon is heading down the same track. Our unelected Governor will introduce a legislative package in next years session that will include (at least) a magazine capacity restriction. No firm details so far. There is a coalition that is trying to make Oregon and Washington have the same gun laws as California. I might be headed to Idaho. Very gun friendly and not so taxing to my retirement.
