If you feel like removing the pin and checking, take a look at the back of the safety lever. There should be a "58" scratched into it, only the first 600 or so Swiss Military have it.

I'm a little surprised that, assuming the gun started out with an unrelieved frame, that the right grip does not appear to have a "3" over the "58" that would have been added at the time the frame was relieved. I would add a link to a couple of guns noted as such but the other Luger forum is down at the moment.

Hi Mark,
This is the first time I hear of this... It prompted me to look at mine, #519... 5 above 19 on the right grip.
It also started out unrelieved and is now relieved.
