Question luger frame replacement or repair

I RECENTLY PURCHASED 2 LUGERS, A 1915 DWM AND A 1916 ERFURT. THE DWM FRAME I AM AFRAID IS DAMAGED. I AM VERY NEW TO THE LUGER AND MISSED THIS ITEM ON INSPECTION. THE STOPPER SECTION AT THE VERY REAR OF THE FRAME SHOULD HAVE TWO FORGED EARS AND A TANG BETWEEN THEM, LOOKS LIKE SOMEONE FILED THEM OFF COMPLETELY. MY QUESTIONS, CAN THE FRAME BE REPAIRED AND IF NOT CAN I OBTAIN A NEW OR USED FRAME? THANKYOU.

Might be smarter to sell the parts from the 1915 DWM and then buy another shooter Luger? But you do see used frames for sale on gunbroker and other places for around $100-$150.

BTW, ALL CAPS is considered yelling on the internet, but since this is important to you, maybe yoou were just gettin my attention, <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" />

Welcome to the forum,

Ed

...I just thought of another tactic... watch the ebay auctions for someone obviously parting out a Luger and send them an email and ask how much for the frame... this will work as long as they are not located outside the continental US. You will only have to work with a FFl holder instead of import and customs folks...

Craig, I'm currently out of stripped PO8 frames. Perhaps I will be able to snag a bunch of the next batch of Soviet reworks from the Ukraine, to part out. When available, frames require the same paper work, as buying the whole pistol. TH
