Even the measurement of "inflation" has not kept up with what most of us experience as inflation.
One measurement I like is when the cost/price of a luger is stated as weeks wages at average or in terms how many eggs or automobiles, etc. I can at least relate to I have to work a month or a year to buy a luger! Some folks only have to work a few hours to "earn" a luger.
