Most collectors think "papers" add to the value of the piece; especially if the serial number is noted.
We've had this discussion ad infinitum on the Japanese board, but regarding "how much" more not "if". Depending on lots of stuff, papers add $25 to $500 in some opinions. I like them and would like to have a luger with papers.

![]() One thing to look for in bringback papers is whether the writing is done with a ballpoint pen. As Eric's paper in post #1 shows, they were not yet in general use in WW II.
