Most collectors think "papers" add to the value of the piece; especially if the serial number is noted.

We've had this discussion ad infinitum on the Japanese board, but regarding "how much" more not "if". Depending on lots of stuff, papers add $25 to $500 in some opinions.

I like them and would like to have a luger with papers.

I would not pay anything for any bringback paper, because they are too easy to fake. Old paper is readily accessible, and typewriter font (or even typewriters) are available as well. It's too easy to print up a fraudulent bringback paper and claim it's original.

One thing to look for in bringback papers is whether the writing is done with a ballpoint pen. As Eric's paper in post #1 shows, they were not yet in general use in WW II.

that leaves more for the rest and less competition!
