David, thank you - I was not sure, i was there 93-00 and that was when many east german and russian lugers were sold and I did not know what I know now
Anyway, I looked with a loop for a small mark - maybe the import marking as on the barrel and it was replaced (although its a Vopo barrel).

And it doesn't appear to be scrubbed. Maybe by luck it slipped through not being marked, that happened every now and then...
