New to Lugers

I'm new to Luger pistols and wanted to know what the best oiling procedure is. Most 1911's like to run wet, is the Luger the same or should you lightly oil?

Welcome!
In a word yes, use a thinner oil liberally.
Lots of moving, sliding, and rotating pieces; all need to be well oiled. JMHO.

first off welcome to this Forum of LUGER enthusiasts.
I've been using BALLISTOL for yonks on all my guns, never had any problem.

Thanks for the input, I guess I will use Mobile One Synthetic like I do with my 1911's. I have found that to be one of the best oils I have used and it has a high viscosity.

Also consider the use of a preserving spray oil like RemOil in the aerosol.

I'm not sure that a high viscosity lubricant (synthetic or not) would work very well.

The Luger action is pretty finely balanced. Something that added drag to the motion could affect timing.

Of course, the effect could also be negligible...

As above, I run my Lugers well oiled, but use TW25b grease for the receiver/toggle train interface. I don't think that it matters too much the brand/type of lube as much as it matters that things are clean and well lubed. We all have our preferences, and they all work just fine.

If you can find it a very good product that I also usefor lubing my firearms is called "FIN SUPER TEFLON OIL" I think it's worth a try.
