Crossed swords are the British Proof house deactivation stamp ??
Not necessarily, crossed swords are "British Military Proof Marks", and they're not necessarily mark a deactivated firearm.  I enclose a picture of my 1911 BRITISH COLT CONTRACT cal. .455 Webley, I can assure you it's not deactivated at all. Anyway I love Jerry's description!!
