Those old Lugers should never be fired with modern high speed and high power ammunition because they may have become structurally unsound. If you have a collectible don't shoot it.

A couple of others that have worked for me are 115-124gr FMJ Winchester White Box, and PMC. Some Lugers are ammo sensitive due in part to the fact that many have had their mainsprings replaced with ??? weight spring. If one brand of ammo does not work for you, then try another. Mags are another culprit in Lugers. Good luck.
