no, Germany marking was only required for USA, although the distributor was in NY and its very likely that guns were sent to Canada or Mexico from NY.
All 1900's had grip safety's. I would be very interested in the story and pictures for vol IV of Vet Bring Backs - I give full credit to the owner and it will be published in a year or so
