David,

I got caught in that 'trap' years ago. My first purchase when rearming my collection (after selling many pieces to finance my business of twelve years) was a salt blued 1937 S42 Luger. Then it was a S42 98k rifle. Then in was a 1937 all matching including mag rust blue 1937 Luger. Then it was a full rig 1937 Kriegoff Luger. Then I started purchasing ANY WWII pistol dated 1937 or manufactured in 1937 as determined by serial number.

As a result of the influence of Jerry Burney, I am out of '1937 rehabilitation'. I now have gotten into the Imperial and Weimar era Luger's and its a whole new ballgame. I love history and this era is an eye-opener.

Bill
