Not Ed, but try this on from my reading of his fine book, by the way
pictures of the front of the frame would help.

Two Simson Lugers would have serial numbers of 1060, one made in 1926 and one maybe in 1933,
the one in 1933 would have an "a" suffix.

There is no suffix on the pistol I own - serial number only.
