I had this posted once before, but I think I deleted it as some members who shall remain nameless made fun of it...
![]() What do you think would look best??? Shoot best??? What caliber - 9mm or 7.65mm??? I have a P1 breech stub left over from my reline projects and am thinking of re-barreling it long... ![]()

6 or 8! If you go 8, add an artillery sight of some sort!

I had a PhotoShop rendition of an 8" artillery P38 but I can't find it...
![]() The P38/P1 eight inch artillery looks shorter than it actually is because 2 1/4" of the barrel is actually breech...Only 5 3/4" sticks out past the frame/slide...Where the Luger artillery sticks out ~7"... I found it! ![]() To make it mimic the artillery Luger, I'd have to add another 1 1/2" to the tapered section...making it actually 9 1/2" long...

The 7 or 8in bbl. should do nicely. I like the 30 Luger round, but 9mm would be o.k. also........I guess!!

I like the 7 inch - and then put me down for one in 7.65 (or 9mm) as that would be cool

I'm with Ed and Ron...7" for a really distinctive result, .30 Luger (I know you can deal with the ammo situation!) for sweet shooting, and original rear sight (or maybe a faux-Navy concoction) for a monster sight radius/clean line. Arty sight does look a little goofy...

![]() It's either a barrel mount or the original sight. Sure, a faux adjustable sight or base could be fabbed to mount where the rear sight is (and still be held in by the firing pin cover) but it wouldn't be securely mounted. It would be 'loose' to some degree.

I vote for 7" , .30, and original rear sight.
Then call it a "Navy 30", JMO! |

Only poll results will be counted. It's a close contest right now, between 6" and 7".
![]() Ed hasn't voted either. ![]()
