In 1961 the Russians cut of access to west Berlin. We went to the rescue by parachuting food and supplies. The pilots noticed hourds of children from bombed out Berlin gathering at the end of the runways. One man had the idea of dropping small parachutes with candy. The Berlin children went crazy.
