This would not be a substantial location to mount anything. perhaps, the grip got a chip knocked out of it, and this was the owner's method of providing some support at the top edge where the grip fits into the frame for mounting? At least until a new grip could be acquired... and then maybe the gun was captured before a replacement grip could be obtained. All speculation of course, except my statement that this surface would not be sturdy enough to support an accoutrement/accessory attached to the grip. ![]() Just my $0.02 Spend it wisely...
