I just read through the entire post and am still unsure what the purpose of this is?

You should know that lugers went through some changes over the years and that even though close to each other the various manufactures used different techniques and different machining.

There is a very real possibility that your going to get confused!

It sounds like your considering building parts or maybe complete guns. If that is the case just say so and you will get lots of help as long as it's legitimate and in no way compromises this country or it's efforts over seas.

The learning curve for this particular gun is very steep--- there is considerable information that needs to be absorbed.

I will say that most of this research has already be completed, so the need for pictures in this detail has everyone wondering what your up to?

You can go to this web site and see most of what you have asked for-- the pictures are copy righted but you can look all you want and get some idea why we seem resistant to your request.

Good luck to you!

Hello Vern,

The thing I'm working on cannot be said. It is not yet under any sort of copyright, at the moment it's all trade secret. The most i'm willing to say, it has to do with a construction of the Luger.

There are many Luger machines out there, I do understand that. Some parts will be changed. I appreciate your concern, however I do not think it will affect me that much. I'll be using these photos only as references to help me understand what I'm looking at on the blueprints. "Oh, that's a hole." "Oh, the there is a curve here that is in the center of the piece, etc". I'll be putting the blueprints and photos together. If the photo is of another model, etc, I will be able to check it with the blueprint and understand that it is not what I'm looking for.

What I'm doing is completely legitimate. It is completely legal, etc. I'm looking forward to when I can say what it is as well, but that is for the future.

I know what you mean. I love German engineering, they know how to put things together. It takes more time to understand what they were thinking (their mechanical language in a sense).

I don't need mechanical research. I need references to what I'm having trouble with. Honestly, there isn't many negative things I can do with the pictures first of all. And all these thousands of photos I'm hearing about, I'm not finding what I'm looking for. I've found stuff close, but no cigar. Furthermore, how are those photos any different from the ones I'm requesting? A slightly different angel won't mean the end of the world?

Thank you very much for your time and your help Vern. I will check this website out and hope for the best.

Glen
