Default Help identifying DWM luger 9mm

Breach marked 1920
Toggle marked DWM

Under the SN on the underside of the barrel but not on the left side front of slide. No marking except the SN there 5XXX

On right side front of the slide: 4 eagles , 1st 2 are the same, the next one different style and has letters under it and the last one is the Wiemar dropped winged eagle.

Also there is one of the Wiemar dropped winged eagle stamped on the barrel on left side near rear of the barrel. ALL numbers match, barrel, slide, all numbered parts, and grips, aluminum bottom mag matches and has a waffenamt ?53 (653?) under the matching SN. With a + between the SN and Waffenamt.

Under the barrel is 5XXX, under that is : the cursive r

8.82
On the frame under that is:

5XXX
Cursive r
No crown proofs, no N, no other proofs other than listed.
The mag was still loaded with 7 rounds dated 41, 42, 44...LOL

This gun was brought back by a local in KY (deceased) and left to a family member, a local Doctor.

It has a brown leather buckle hard shell holster. The back is marked:
FR & VOEGELS
KOLN-DEUTZ
WaA387 and old style eagle then 1936

*Condition of the Luger is a solid 97% , just minor holster wear. The internals are excellent as is the bore. The holster is about the same % with all stitching in great condition.
I could not post proofs for some reason. I am a brand new member. I can email markings. I would appreciate any help.

IIRC, there is a minimum number of posts before you can attach pics - 3 or 5, something like that...Post a couple more times and then try to attach pics again...

It is extremely hard to give much positive feedback on just words.

I can say it was likely made around 19xx -

Does the 5xxx have a suffix under the front frame?

The 1920 could be a date or a property marking.

The 5XXX does have a r written in cursive under the SN on both the underside of the barrel and on the front of the frame where the SN appears. No other markings other than listed above. No other marking on the front left side of the frame other than the 4 digit SN by it's self. I will be happy to send pictures of the markings as soon as I go post enough post to be allowed to do so.
Thanks for your help, it is appreciated.

Most likely, your pictures are too large, you can post pictures.
It seems from your document that what you have is a 1920 (the date) made weimar pistol, however the 'r' would be late 1920's - so I am wondering if it is a an 'n' ?? they made some 'n's during that period. Most were no serial (ns), 'a' and 'b' and for some odd reason some 'n's.

If an 'r', then it is a either a WW1 that the date was scrubbed or a later one that received a very late gov't 1920 marking (see the FAQ for more info on this).
