). I took it out of the box and walked around with it for a while, and it sure made people look.

I tried an eBay Search for 'mattell thunder burp' and got hits for the Thompson w/drum clone (of which I had one also) but not the M3 clone. My [Thompson] ThunderBurp had the compensator broke off and no stock (if they even had one). I have a pic of it somewhere here...I'll have to look...
![]() But the M3 toy was the cool one. Actual tin like the real one. And it shot caps! (The [Thompson] ThunderBurp didn't shoot caps; it had a sound chamber and a wind-up mechanism that made shooting noises). ![]() Edit: Found the pic! Lookit that cute little guy...8 yrs old...With his cap in one hand and toy in the other...I don't recall ever owning that kind of cap...No idea where it came from...

Looks like you were ready to throw the cap in the air and then shoot it!

Rushford Lake NY, would have been before Thanksgiving...They drain the lake every Fall [dam]; I'm standing below the dock, where the water usually is...The "High Dive" dock is right behind me...And there's my Beagle, "Lady"...Wow... Ah, the halcyon days of youth...

Calibrator hadn't checked the thread lately and missed my posts...He sent me some links to YouTube videos of his red Mattel "M3" and the black drum-Thompson toy I'm holding in my pic...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d554SF5ua2Y M3 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EPTUV77u6s8 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qDMidB2eWd0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QWrEcFFSnxE Kinda funny...One is labeled as the "first Mattel commercial shown on The Mickey Mouse Club"... My Mattel Burp is also shown as selling for $3.00 or $2.50 in the videos...
