I am shopping for Range Rovers and Jaguars almost all the time. Ran into SEVERAL scammers (maybe the same "outfit"), that advertise prices too good to be true. But you never know. I was a car dealer in the 90s, and some people ARE actually going through divorces, hardships, etc. and sell their stuff CHEAP.

So once I contact these, and some BS story usually follows,......"car is in XX city ready to be shipped, transaction will be handled through Ebay, the current owner is in XX city/country/being "deployed" etc." I send the "seller" an email, agreeing to everything, and offering to pay with the cashier's check from my employer (AT&T, Coca Cola,....imagination) that I just happen to have in my possesion, ready to mail out. The check is about 2K OVER the asking amount, and all the seller has to do, is to deposit this check in his/her bank account, and WIRE me the difference! I even offer a reward (5-6 hundred over the asking amount for the vehicle, ...just for his trouble). I also tell them how I trust them to wire me the difference, and I will take the possesion of the vehicle in the city specified.

Nobody EVER took my "offer", and I never heard back from them.
