You have made the right decision to not buy it.

Gander Mountain?! Run, don't walk, away. GM is notorious for waaaaay overpricing used firearms. Very rarely is a square deal to be found at GM, in my experience. Worst of all, they *never* negotiate on price.
Cabela's, while overpriced, will at least usually negotiate. |

And I have to argue Cabela's is the same. Cabela;s by me has two black widows, very rough shape - far worse then this gun - with rust in many areas and they are asking $3500 each! Ridiculous. They advertised one with 3 3/8 barrel or something to like, and it was odd because it was noticeably shorter then the 4" next to it. |

A month or two ago, I just missed out on a unit marked 1st issue P. 08 a Cabela's had out West (Idaho, I think?). Was a really nice gun, but it was sold by the time I called out there. Was priced at $1000. Shopping Cabela's inventory via the internet is almost useless, due to how infrequently they update.
I can't disagree with you though, sometimes I wonder what they're smoking when it comes to their luger pricing. I've seen some lugers priced at twice as much or more than what "the market" would otherwise dictate. |
