I see a lot of plum color here. Who cares if the grips are after market. It seems most Lugers have the safety chip that takes out the left handle. Who cares? By now you have a Mauser with replaced grips. Do all parts match?

Here are Mausers S/42 issued:
![]() Above is 1937 with the chip in the original wood. The wood is serial numbered to the 1937. On the INSIDE. Below is the 1936 with replaced grips without the chip in the safety.
