John, If you had sent me that hand I would have stitched it right up! Probably a lot cheaper too! Then the stitches would have just fallen out after 100 years.
Glad you have it fixed. I type by the hunt & peck method and don't use my thumb much for typing.

Spring loaded oven door?
We never know what's gonna bite us. Sorta reminds me of the time, a few years ago, when I was up on a ladder painting the barn and stepped back to admire my work. Got me four months in a wheel chair and now Pat won't let me get up on a ladder to even change a light bulb. (Silver lining in every cloud?) Maybe you won't be allowed to get near an oven...
