I got a CMP M1 about 10 years ago.
It's a '43 with a '46 barrel and a replacement stock so it likely saw some action during the war. I love shooting it but it doesn't get out much anymore since it's so expensive to feed and such a PITA to clean.

I've been a High Power competitor for 25 years, and my club still holds at least one Garand-only match a year. Of course these days we all use AR15s for most matches, but the old M1 is a superb weapon. I've put around 2000 rounds through my DCM Garand over the years, and it has NEVER malfunctioned.....a classic for the ages.
