In one of the pics, it shows a partial view of a cursive style letter below the numerical digits on the frame. This is part of the serial number--the letter sffix--and will help narrow the date of manufacture of your pistol.

Welcome dandaman!! I think the suffix of your 1936 S/42 Luger is a "k". That being the case, it was completed about June 1936. I hope this helps a little.
