Correct me if I am wrong but I believe gothic refers to san serif (the LATE S on K dates) smooth curves letters. Scriptic refers to the EARLY S with the serifs and ornamental style.
I have a couple of the early type with all scriptic S's and they are on nearly every part including interior parts such as the firing pin retainer and toggle link pin. I wish they were here in front of me to check for sure. A friend here in Colorado recently bought s/n 1536 and it had at least one of the later style S's on the toggle train. It seems the transition began before s/n 1536. Dave |
