have to ask when you refer to "peanut butter and jelly" is the "Jelly" a jam of some sort?

Jelly is jam minced up so no vestige of the original fruit is left.Just a processed fruit spread with sugar added. I asked the cook!
Do you Aussies still toast your bread with a blow torch,like on the "Paul Hogan" show?
