I heard that they threw a small bomb-like thing back towards the police car when they were chased on road. I bet that's not another pressure cooker... Was it a real grenade? Where did they get it?

Was homemade pipe bombs being dropped to shake the pursuing Police vehicles. The interesting part about it, according to a relative in MA state police, was that the younger brother was a smoker always carrying a disposable lighter, but when lighting these pipe bombs to throw at the pursuing vehicles, he was using the vehicle dashboard lighter, much more dependable for the type of fuses they had in the bombs. Just a little more evidence of training in these acts.

. . i heard an army active duty runner was told that he was suffering from dehydration and made to withdraw from the race and go to the hospital, instead of, say, crossing the finish line.
