ST. LOUIS (AP)

Stan Musial, one of baseball's greatest hitters and a Hall of Famer with the St. Louis Cardinals for more than two decades, has died. He was 92

Sad but inevitable. I don't recall seeing him play in person, but do remember replays & old games re-broadcast in later years. I've never been a Cardinals fan [Braves/Yankees] but he raised the bar for outfielders and baseball players in general. More players should strive to be like Stan Musial. RIP.

I was at Sportman's Park in St Louis in 1952 when Stan hit a homerun, I didn't get to see him hit it because being five, in the upper left field seats and all the grownps standing, cheering, yelling, the only way I knew it was him who hit the homerun was his name that my grandad kept shouting.

Appreciate the info......sad news.

When the Giants moved out to San Francisco, saw the Cardinals play the Giants. Don't remember much about the game or even who won. I do remember that Stan Musial hit a home run!!
