So your target market is only 2000, basically two times the number of 1900 USA Test pieces which are one of the most scarce of Lugers. Even if you could find a nice example, it will cost a pretty penny. And, it's unlikely any collector would have a duplicate specimen from which he would part. If you want a nice HK at perhaps a more acceptable price, I would suggest that you focus on 1936 and 1937 examples. Many more were build in these two years than the others put together. But always remember, the entire HK production over its entire history represented about ONE MONTH of Mauser's production in its hey day. In total Mauser built about 2 MILLION Lugers to HK's 12-13,000. Just a little perspective. John |
