I cleared a .45 into one at the finance out-processing center at Bien Hoa.
Horde of excited REMFs falling all over themselves wanting to know just what the HELL was going on and me standing there looking innocent with a smoking gun.

I guess the REMFs were wondering why you discharged a live round into the barrel instead of clearing the piece first.

Reminds me of my first tour in Germany. There was a young Lieutenant in another unit that was assigned courier duty to take some classified material to the headquarters in Heidelberg. When he got there he saw the barrel and the sign "Clear Your Weapon", so he did...WHAM, WHAM, WHAM...a full magazine. The MPs weren't amused.
