All I found on some German sites, is that the crown and G is one of the proof signs of the Weimarer Republik.
Supposedly it is a first proof stamp ( Vorbeschuß) for solid bullets (Geschoss). There is then usually the U (Untersuchung) after the second and final proofing and the N with crown for Nitro charges. |
