The grip strap stamps are from the Schutzpolizei command located in the city of Weißenfelds in the Prussian administrative district of Merseburg. The initial police marking was S.Me.II.R.31.signifying it was P08 #31 of the precinct police (Revierpolizei) of this city. It dates from the early 1920s. In 1932, the marking format for Schupo weapons was changed and the marking on this gun was changed to S.Me.II.640. A virtually identical marking is illustrated in Fig. 10-6 of HWIS.

I, too, would be interested in seeing photos of this gun. I expect that it has or had a sear safety and mag safety since it was a precinct police weapon.
