Thank you, Vlim. I never knew Finland used a Luger. Their own Lahti pistol looks similar to the Luger. I fine it interesting that at some point the German forces occupying Norway acquired Norwegian m/14 pistols with German markings, and then Norway acquired P08 pistols from the Germans.

In the mid 1980's Norway released their "capture" Lugers for sale to the surplus market. I have a BYF 41, in mint condition, that was sold to me for around $385.00 around 1985. I was told by the dealer, then, that when the German Army left Norway, they surrendered their weapons on the way out of the country. This seems logical, as the Western Armies never invaded Norway to fight the Germans there. Sieger |
