$799 wouldn't be so bad if it would chamber/feed and the price would put it on par with an RGuns WWII Luger (which might not have as much finish). If this one worked I wouldn't mind paying $650-$750 for it easily simply because I don't see many Lugers in the wild around here. That means I have to go online and find one and have it shipped here, then pay taxes on it, and then the FFL transfer fees which would easily push something up to $800 or $900 depending on the base price.
The only Luger in the wild I've seen here in the Seattle area recently is a Swiss 06/29 with two mags and a holster and they want $2650 for that (before taxes). As of last week it was still in my local pistol range's display case in their consignment section. I do want it but I fear it's a bit too rich for my blood (as beautiful as it is). Padredan, did you ever manage to get this one to chamber/feed or was it a lost cause?
