Eric, when I load and use drums I only load twenty rounds. Also when firing any old semi auto pistol for the first time I only load two rounds in the magazine. I had a P38 when I was a kid that would fire the full mag with one trigger pull; it's a sobering experiance.

You will also find that you need to have the toggle train open when you insert the drum magazine.
