Everything I have read about silencer possesion in the U.S. revolves around the NFA act of 1934 because game wardens were worried about poaching so that was why it was written in.

Back in the eighties, when I was living in the New Jersey mafia belt (Soprano country), one of my neighbors made the local papers when he was arrested in connection with the disappearance of his business partner. He was found to be in possession of a silenced pistol, which he claimed was for pest control, and he "didn't want to disturb the neighbors". He beat the murder rap but I believe he served time for the pistol. Regards, Norm
